A group of six gigantic ‘towers’ have been discovered on the moon by conspiracy theorists who believe they could have been built by aliens.
The footage taken from Google Moon is collected by NASA satellites orbiting the moon and taking images of the lunar surface.
The images appears to show several rocks standing high above ground level, while the data alongside shows some towers as high as five kilometers.
Tyler Glockner, founder of alien hunting website Secure Team 10 , said that he believes the formations are not natural, but have been placed there by some kind of lifeform.
“When you look at these things, they are towering. Some of them nearly four miles high,” he said.
Tyler said that it may be possible that these are image glitches on the software.
However, he said that the idea of towers on the moon refers to ‘artificial towers” which are not natural to the moon and have been put there by someone or something.
“The idea of towers on the moon has been around for decades.”
Some viewers were not convinced by the footage and the claims of artificial towers.
“For a detailed analysis of the lunar surface, Google moon is a very unreliable tool,” wrote one user.
There were some supporters as another user added: “What if Nasa is releasing this data and those images as a way of drip-feeding us.
“Surely they can’t have missed all those structures, after all, it’s Nasa.”
