LAHORE: An alleged mobile snatcher has been set on fire here at Nawab Town by two brothers on Saturday, ARY News reported.
The man has been identified as 20-year-old Muhammad Arshad who received burn injuries on his arms and hands in the incident.
According to police, two brothers, namely Jahangir and Mannan, accused Arshad of stealing a mobile phone after which a brawl broke out between them earlier today. The residents of the area intervened and pacified the parties.
However, the brothers harboured the grudge against Arshad as they threw kerosene on him and set him on fire, police said.
The victim was shifted to Jinnah Hospital Lahore for medical attendance, where the doctors pronounced the condition of Arshad out of danger.
Police have detained an accused Jahangir while his brother Mannan has been still at large.
Inspector General (IG) Punjab has taken notice of the incident.
