ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday said that the federal government will provide additional resources for the uplift of tribal areas of former FATA region, ARY News reported.
Chairing a high level meeting in Islamabad on the merger of tribal areas with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the premier said that a special development package will be ensured for these areas.
The meeting took stock of the progress on the merger of erstwhile FATA with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province and different administrative and legal measures taken so far in that regard.
The PM emphasized on ensuring the implementation of new system in tribal areas while keeping in view the prevalent traditions and customs of tribesmen.
Imran Khan also emphasized upon expediting the efforts for introduction of local government system in these areas for progress and prosperity of tribal people.
