A couple of days earlier, Aamir Khan was under fire from all sides when Anupam Kher, Raveena Tandon, Ram Gopal Varma and Rishi Kapoor had criticised him for pointing out the rising ‘intolerance’ in India. At first, only A.R.Rahman came forward to support Khan softly but now it seems more and more celebrities are siding with him.

This is what Jackie Shroff had to say about the incident and the fact that Aamir had full right to whatever he wanted and that people had a right to protest as well.
“India is the biggest democracy. We have the right to say what we want to say and people have the right to protest. If there are things that some think are wrong, then people have the right to speak up,” he said. “Ask them (Aamir and Kiran Rao) why they said something like that before jumping to conclusions. Respect the person’s view as that is also being tolerant.”
Hrithik Roshan was more supportive of Aamir and tweeted support to him, acknowledging his bravery.

Farah Khan approached the subject logically and said that to issue such hateful statements against Aamir was itself proving his point, that intolerance was on the rise. We say there is no intolerance. But when somebody has a point of view, everybody jumps on him and attacks him which is the definition of intolerance. That is ironic. On one hand, we say we are not intolerant and one the other we say how dare you say we are intolerant,” she opined. “I don’t think industry itself is divided. The whole country is divided. It is a good thing that discussions happen and people are allowed to give their opinions. Those who are returning their awards have all right to return it. Mahatma Gandhi taught us how to do it peacefully and non violently. It is the person’s choice and preference. Discussions and debates should happen non-violently.” On a lighter note, this tweet by Bollywood actress Sunny Leone could also be taken as a sign of support for Aamir!
