The case was heard by Justice Athar Minallah.
Petitioner Shahid Orakzai stated in the petition that the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif did not appoint CEC as prescribed under the constitution nor the Parliamentary Committee interviewed the new CEC before appointing him.
The court dismissed the petition and ordered Orakzai to pay Rs. 20,000 fine for “wasting 20 minutes of the court”.
