Musical heavyweights come to Shafqat Amanat Ali's aid

Shafqat Amanat Ali was sufficiently trolled following his dismal performance before the Pakistan-India World T20 clash on Saturday. Shafqat had received the ire of millions of Pakistanis for forgetting some words of the national anthem, as he took the mic before Amitabh Bachchan.

However, Pakistan’s pop icons did come to the aid of Shafqat for fumbling during the performance and urged fans to forgive and forget. Shafqat Amanat Ali’s friend from old times Abrar-ul-Haq also came to the rescue and said that one should learn from his/her mistakes.

“But we should not criticise him just because of that. We should, instead, learn from these mistakes. As a nation, we have a terrible tendency of not learning from our mistakes,” he said.

Atif Aslam also cited the example of pacer Mohammad Amir who made a mistake but is now performing impressively on a regular basis.
“Even Amir bowled no-balls and now he is back and performing to the best of his ability. We should forgive and forget,” said the Aadat hitmaker. I don’t know the facts but from what I saw, I think Amitabh Bachchan was lip-syncing,” finished Atif.

Pakistan’s Rockstar musician Ali Zafar also defended Shafqat and said that people should respect the element of human error.
“I can understand the sentiment of the general public but one thing that should be understood is that human error is something unavoidable,” he said.

“We should not disown or isolate him based on this mistake. Shafqat bhai’s contribution is immense and all of that must not be forgotten only because of one mistake,” he said.

Zoheb Hassan said that it was in the nature of a human being to err hence one should not make a fuss about the issue at hand.
