ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Farhatullah Babar on Wednesday said that the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has become a politically affiliated institution, ARY News reported.

Talking to media here Senator Babar said after the incident of Brigadier (retd) Asad Munir the chairman NAB would have stepped down from his office, if not, he should have go on leave.

The chairman wouldn’t have allowed the NAB to become a political tool, the PPP leader said.

Senator Babar addressing a press conference in past week in Islamabad along with other party leaders had called for a probe by a parliamentary committee into suicide allegedly committed by a retired army officer against whom the NAB was conducting inquiries.

They had also demanded that the NAB chairman should be suspended till the completion of inquiries.

Replying a question during the media talk today, Farhatullah Babar said Rawalpindi is not a good place for the People’s Party, while referring hanging of the founding leader of the party and assassination of another party chairperson and former premier in the city.

He also said that no one has talked against the federation in the party.
