KARACHI: Paramilitary contingents will be on high alert across the country to thwart out any terrorist bid during Eid-ul-Azha.
This was stated in a statement issued by a spokesperson of National Counter Terrorism Authority (Nacta) on Friday.
He said the Interior Ministry has announced a high alert across the country in view of the looming terrorism threat during Eid-ul-Azha.
The spokesperson said Interior Ministry’s air wing will also remain alert from the early hours of Saturday.
He said the interior ministry has directed provincial governments to take every intelligence report seriously.
The spokesperson said the provincial disaster management authorities have been asked to make necessary arrangements at the locations where Eid processions would be organized.
He added that the provincial authorities have also been told to take strict action against those collecting the hides of sacrificial animals without a no-objection certificate.
