PIA sources said that the officials received a phone call from an unknown person who claimed there was an explosive planted inside the PIA plane PK-825 which was heading from Beijing to Tokyo.
The aviation authority in Beijing contacted the pilots of the PIA jet and instructed them to land at the nearest airport.
After the landing, the plane was inspected thoroughly and the bomb disposal squad cleared the jet.
The plane departed for Beijing after having cleared by the authorities.
