“Assassin’s Creed” is the new film based on the game of the same name.
The film is established in the same universe as the video games but features a story that expands the series’ mythology, taking place during the Spanish Inquisition.
In the film, the groundbreaking technology allows Callum Lynch (Michael Fassbender) to access his genetic past. Callum discovers he is descended from a mysterious secret society, the Assassins, and amasses incredible knowledge and skills to take on the oppressive and powerful Templar organization in the present day. As he explores the memories of his 15th-century ancestor Aguilar, Lynch absorbs the skills and knowledge of a Master Assassin to take on a familiar adversary.
The movie is directed by Justin Kurzel, written by Michael Lesslie, Adam Cooper and Bill Collage and stars Michael Fassbender, Jeremy Irons, Brendan Gleeson, Marion Cotillard, Charlotte Rampling and Michael K. Williams.
