According to the Pakistan Navy Spokesperson, he was received by the Turkish Fleet Commander Admiral Ercument Tatlioglu at Fleet Headquarters and was given a comprehensive briefing regarding Turkish Fleet Command.

"It is an honour that you belong to Sanghar. Your assuming the top office of the Navy is an inspiration for youth," talking to the Naval Chief, Syed Murad Ali Shah said.

The award was conferred at an investiture ceremony at Aiwan-e-Sadar in Islamabad.
