Indian troops once again resorted to unprovoked gunfire in Batal Sector near the LoC, resulting in the martyrdom of 30-year-old Muhammad Akhtar, said the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The incident took place when Akhtar was collecting sand from river Poonch.
However, the Pakistan Army responded befittingly to Indian fire and silenced all enemy guns.
Indian troops have been violating the ceasefire for months, about which the UN observers also collected facts in their visit to the LoC in July.
Several Pakistani citizens have so far embraced martyrdom due to cross-border firing and shelling by Indian troops.
