CAIRO: Four out of 17 stranded Pakistani nationals in Egypt are set to return to Pakistan, ARY News reported on Thursday.
It should be noted that 17 Pakistanis are stranded in Egypt for the past four months as their ship was stuck in the open waters of Cairo. A shipping Kuwaiti company has not paid the dues of the workers as well.
Ambassador of Pakistan in Egypt Mushtaq Ali announced that four out of 17 workers named Umar Ghauri, Tanveer, Mohammad Tariq and Samiullah will return to the country today.
He added that the four stranded workers have been provided tickets and will reach Karachi today by 07.00 pm.
A foreign news agency reported that the Pakistani workers are also running out of food and other supplies of daily need. Six of the Pakistani workers were critically unwell as they do not have access to medical treatment.
The news agency added that Chief Officer Jameel Jangian stated that the Kuwaiti-based shipping company did not pay the dues for getting the the travel documents of the labourers processed due to which their passports were seized.
He went on to say that company did not pay the salaries of the workers which amounts to Rs. 20 million.
