Haris Rauf is not having the best in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. He has taken eight wickets in the tournament and conceded 286 runs at an average of 35.75 and a strike rate of 30.75.

His best performance was against the Netherlands when he returned with figures of 3/43.

Umar Gul, considered to be one of the country’s greatest pacers, opened up on the right-arma pacer’s poor performance. The former cricketer, who was part of Pakistan’s victorious T20 World Cup 2009 side, believes that Haris Rauf is tired and needs to be rested but the problem lies in the side not having a suitable replacement.

According to him, Haris Rauf is conceding runs because India’s pitches and conditions don’t suit him. He said pitches favour batters in the evening.

He said that Haris Rauf would get thrashed if he bowled in the wrong areas.

Moreover, the former cricketer went on to criticize the side’s bowling unit by saying that they are not using the new ball to their advantage. He added that teams, unlike Pakistan, pile pressure in the initial stages of the innings.

Umar Gul, giving his views on Pakistan’s loss to Afghanistan, said Green Shirts had lost the match within the 15th over.
