Minister warns of imminent water crisis in Pakistan

Speaking in a seminar at WAPDA House Lahore, Asif said that the country in future can suffer from a water shortage crisis.

He remarked that people of the country cannot afford the wastage of power or water adding that the government is also taking steps to educate people about the need of water conservation.

Asif was of the view that it has become our national character to waste our natural resources while lamenting that in a country where a water crisis is imminent, people are using water for free.

The minister told the audience that the government will overcome the electricity crisis in two to three years hinting that the government is planning to use coal and gas for the purpose.
