Pakistani PM Nawaz Sharif, addressing the Water For Life conference in Tajikistan’s capital Dushanbe on Tuesday, stated that cross-border cooperation has to be improved for tackling the water issue.
The Pakistani premier stated that his country is a key partner in the goals set by United Nations for meeting fresh water targets.
“We have to tackle the problems caused by environmental changes and over-population in the world”, Sharif said.
Earlier, PM Nawaz Sharif, accompanied by Water and Power Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif and Advisor on National Security and Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz, arrived at Tajikistan for a two-day state visit on the invitation of his Tajik counterpart Qohir Rasulzoda.
He will hold one on one meetings with the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and other high-level officials during the state visit.
