NAB counsel had requested 15-day remand of Dr Asim but the court approved 14-day custody.
The former petroleum minister is facing charges of corruption and terror financing. He is also accused of providing medical treatment to terrorists and criminals at his hospitals in Karachi.
In today’s hearing, the counsel of Dr. Asim said his client needed immediate treatment. In case of delay, his health could be deteriorated, he added.
He claimed that Dr. Asim was being harassed in the detention and he should be allowed to be consulted with a physiologist.
