Hours after singer Meesha Shafi requested change of judge in defamation suit filed by him, singer and actor Ali Zafar took to Twitter and slammed her for “running away”.
“Kindly #FaceTheCourtMeeshaShafi and pay the damages. Running away and closing twitter account for #gameofthrones spoilers will not help,” Ali Zafar wrote while quoting a tweet from his lawyer.

Ali’s lawyer Barrister Ambreen Qureshi had written that today, for the eighth time, “our witnesses, including women, had to come back from the court as the other party has now filed an application to change the honourable judge”.

Ali Zafar, who is suing Meesha for defamation over her allegations that he sexually harassed her on multiple occasions including a jamming session before their December concert, also retweeted another lawyer’s tweet in which the lawyer termed Meesha’s move a ‘delaying tactic’.
“Meesha Shafi now wants her case transferred to a different judge because the one hearing Ali Zafar’s defamation claim is ‘biased’. As a trial lawyer I can tell you this is a popular delaying tactic by litigants who know they don’t stand a chance,” wrote one Barrister Hamza Gulzar.

It is pertinent to note here that on May 1, Meesha Shafi wrote on Twitter that she is taking a break from the social media platform “not because I’m getting mercilessly bullied and slandered” but because of ‘Game of Thrones’ spoilers.
Ok taking a break from twitter now not because I’m getting mercilessly bullied and slandered… I took it last year, I can take it this year too. What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.
But because…. @GameOfThrones spoilers! 🙏🏼— MEESHA SHAFI (@itsmeeshashafi) May 1, 2019
Recently, eye witnesses from the jamming session- about which Meesha claimed that Ali Zafar sexually harassed her- talked to ARY News and categorically denied seeing any such thing.

Eyewitnesses Baqir Abbas, Aqsa Ali and Asad maintained that they saw nothing out of ordinary during the session, in fact, Meesha Shafi was “very happy”.
One of them even said that Meesha Shafi came, hugged Ali Zafar, participated in the session, hugged Ali and left and he saw nothing extraordinary.
Four months after this December event, Meesha Shafi had claimed, on Twitter, that she had been subjected to sexual harassment “of a physical nature” by Ali Zafar on multiple occasions including the jamming session before the said concert.
Ali Zafar has since been fighting an intense court battle with Meesha Shafi.
