‘Attack on Ahmad Noorani a malicious attempt to cause unrest’

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Army on Saturday condemned the attack on journalist Ahmad Noorani and termed the incident “A malicious attempt to cause unrest”, ARY News reported.

Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) condemned the attack on his Twitter account and announced support for efforts to catch culprits and bringing them to justice.

“Attack on Ahmed Noorani condemned. A malicious attempt to cause unrest. Full support for efforts to catch culprits & bring them to justice” said DG ISPR Major General Asif Ghafoor.

Moreover, a representative of DG ISPR visited the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), where Noorani is under treatment, and presented the injured journalist with a bouquet.

Ahmad Noorani, a senior journalist working with an English Language daily, was assaulted by unidentified attackers in Islamabad’s Khayabane Suharwardy road on Friday.

The attackers severely beat up Noorani and his driver with iron rods before speeding away on bikes.
