KARACHI: The provincial lawmakers from opposition benches are to table a no-confidence motion on Tuesday (tomorrow) against Sindh Assembly Deputy Speaker Shehla Raza for her ‘non-cooperative’ and ‘discourteous’ attitude, ARY News reported.
The motion is to be tabled from MPAs of three political parties namely PML-F, PTI, and PML-N.
The legislators from opposition parties in Sindh Assembly have expressed deep concerns over her ‘biased attitude’ towards them, contending the speaker interrupts the opposition lawmakers from raising a point of order.
Talking to press, Nusrat Sahar Abbasi, an MPA from PML-F, told media that the speaker’s behaviour towards her is extremely unpleasant.
Deploring the deputy speaker’s ‘biased attitude’, Abbasi said that the MPAs’ concerns should be given heed on the floor of the assembly as they represent the masses.
Meanwhile, she said that MQM-P has refused to be part of the move.
The other members from opposition benches echoed similar sentiments on the occasion while asserting that the speaker has a biased attitude towards them.
Moreover, they alleged Shehla Raza of having a cooperative attitude towards MPAs from the treasury bench.
Raza is a PPP politician, who was unanimously elected as deputy speaker of the Sindh Assembly in 2008 and re-elected for the same office in 2013.
