MULTAN: Theatre actress Shamim alias Shamo was shot dead by unidentified assailant here on Monday morning, according to police.
Shamim, 29, was gunned down early this morning outside her house in Shah Town of Multan, the police said.
After being informed about the incident, the police reached the crime scene and shifted the dead body to a nearby hospital for medico-legal formalities.
The deceased’s brother Saifur Rehman said an unidentified armed man sprayed her with bullets outside her residence and sped away unscathed.
He said that his sister had been receiving death threats from someone performing alongside her in threatres.
He expressed suspicion that her sister might have been killed by her estranged husband.
Police said they have registered an FIR and launched investigation into the murder.
