KARACHI: Two minor brothers on Sunday perished of food poisoning after consuming unhygienic meal at a restaurant in Karachi, ARY News reported.
Accordin to details, Ahmad, one-and-a-half-year-old, and Muhammad, five-year-old, both sons of Ahsan and residents of Creek Vista, have died of food poisoning this afternoon while their mother, Ayesha, is hospitalised at South City Hospital.
They reportedly had dinner at a restaurant at Zamzama area, a while later they also ate sweets at a playland in Defence Housing Society area last night.
“Both the entities have been sealed for forensic analysis. Investigation is underway,” said police.
Police have initiated investigation along with teams of food department.
Inspector General Sindh Police Kaleem Imam has taken notice of the incident and sought details from SSP South in this regard.

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has also taken notice of the deaths and sought a comprehensive report from the commissioner Karachi in the tragic incident.
The CM has sought details of last inspection of both the facilities. He has ordered to save affected parent of the victims. He said he should be told about the complete mechanism of checking food and who was responsible for this incident.
Four workers of the restaurant have been rounded up and they were being interrogated by the police.
Karachi Police Chief Amir Sheikh said post-mortem of the children would be conducted on permission of the parents.
