KARACHI: Pakistani speedster Junaid Khan is confident to give a tough time to Indian skipper Virat Kohli when two fierce rivals clash on June 4, in the ICC Champions Trophy in England.
The mind game has already begun a week before two cricket rivals clash in the trophy as Pakistani pacer Junaid Khan rates the Indian captain as a ‘brilliant batsman’ but feels he has failed against him.
“I have dismissed him in three out of the four matches we have faced each other”, Khan said in his brief interaction with media.
The left-arm fast bowler believes he has a psychological advantage over Indian skipper Virat Kohli. “I will be looking to utilize it against the Indian captain,” he said.
The duo has met in four matches with the swashbuckling right-hander falling to him thrice in four matches. Kohli also has scored just two runs in 22 balls against the Pakistani speedster.
It is worth mentioning here that it has been four years since Kohli faced Junaid but the Pakistani bowler still believes he has the edge over the Indian considering their history which is bound to work in his favour.
“When I face him, I will consider him the same Kohli,” he said.
“I will also think of me as the same Junaid who has taken his wicket before, which might make him go on the defensive a bit more and therefore lose his wicket”, he added.
The 27-year-old also didn’t forget to highlight that fact that Kohli is yet to score a boundary off his bowling and Junaid feels that’s an honour for him considering the fact that Kohli has been a nightmare for the bowler.
