PPP to conquer Punjab and wipe out Sharif: Zardari

JHANG: Pakistan People’s Party chairman Asif Ali Zardari on Friday said the PPP will conquer Punjab in the upcoming elections and will send Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif packing home. 

Addressing a public gathering to welcome Faisal Saleh Hayat and Shah Junejo back into the PPP, the former president said that Nawaz Sharif has failed in his responsibilities to lead the nation and should step down.

“We have to conquer Punjab and then wipe out the Sharifs,” he said adding that Nawaz Sharif cannot run the country, and now they will take the responsibility to take the nation forward.

He said that Sindh Assembly has passed a resolution against Nawaz Sharif today, but said he foresees him either aboard in Madinnah or in Landhi prison. “People of Sindh still remember your cries from the Landhi prison,” he said.

Zardari further criticised Nawaz Sharif accusing him of blatant corruption from the state coffers, and vowed that the PPP will not rest until it has pushed him out of power. He called the gathering as his first against Nawaz Sharif.

“Mian sahab, you are not capable of doing anything, the people wanted to get rid of you,” he said reminding the premier that the verdict of the people has been against him.

He welcomed Faisal Saleh Hayat and Shah Junejo back to their ‘home party’ and said that they had only lost the returning officers election.

Panama case verdict proves dual standards of justice

PPP co-chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that the Panama case verdict proves the dual standards present in the country, as there are separate laws for the poor people and the elite.

Addressing the gathering, he called on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to morally step down. “There are two laws in Pakistan, one for the poor and another for the Sharifs.”

“Mian Sahab, if there is even some self-respect left inside, then you should step down,” thundered the PPP chairman.

He said that one prime minister was hanged on a split 4-3 decision, while another prime minister’s government was saved on a split 3-2 decision.

He said innocent people were fired upon in the Model Town incident, but no action was taken against them, while the Sharifs were involved in economic murder but no one dares to question them.

He questioned whether the people accept these dual standards of justice, and said that they do not want to see a nation with differential treatment for the rich and the poor, but rather one nation united under one law, and will continue their ongoing struggle for it.
