PTI holds Punjab govt responsible for mistreatment of women

She had submitted an application in a police station against Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) and held the Punjab government responsible for mistreatment of women.

“Our security was very good for the gathering. But 10-12 unknown persons came and did all the mess, video evidence could be provided for identification of the culprits. The Punjab government is responsible because of non-provision of foolproof security,” she said while addressing a press conference at Chairman Secretariat in Lahore. Chairperson PTI Women Wing Munazza Hassan was also present on the occasion with other women leaders.

Police had on Monday registered a case against at least 100 unknown persons for harassing women workers of PTI during its anti-corruption rally on Sunday.

The victims told that after the rally around 100 men stormed into the pavilion reserved for women activists and started harassing them.

On the other hand, PML-N female lawmakers had on Monday slammed Imran Khan questioning that the person who could not handle his party, how could he run affairs of the state.

PML-N lawmakers Anushey Rehman, Maryam Aurangzeb and Maiza Hameed had slammed Tehreek-i-Insaf and its leadership for the mistreatment of women at party rallies, raising questions on the silence of PTI leaders in its wake.

Condemning the harassment of women, they had blasted the PTI leadership saying if the women participants could not be protected, then why were they urged to join rallies.
