Several of the JUI-F activists were injured in the clash. They were moved to District Hospital. Aerial firing was reported from the area right after the clash. Both the protesting sides pelted each other with stones.
Heavy contingent of police led by district police officer reached the spot to disperse the protesters.
The police managed to disband the protesting parties. No loss of life was reported in the incident.
Meanwhile, a country-wide strike is being observed against the killing of JUI-F leader Dr. Khalid Mahmood Soomro on Sunday, ARY News reports.
Dr. Khalid Mahmood Soomro was shot dead by unknown persons in Sukkur on Saturday morning. He was a former senator and the current Secretary General of JUI-F Sindh chapter.
