The SHC assessed objections raised by the Rangers in the petition and asked the provincial government to file its reply by January 6, 2016.
The copy of the resolution was also submitted in the court.

On December 22, the federal government while rejecting the summary of Sindh government restored all previous powers to Rangers in the province for 60 days.
The Ministry of Interior today turned down the summary forwarded by the Sindh government, curtailing Rangers powers and subjecting them to CM’s nod in certain cases.
Earlier on December 16, Sindh Assembly passed the resolution extending policing powers to Rangers along with certain conditions, including a prerequisite approval from a senior government functionary for paramilitary force to conduct any raid of political nature.
