Now the news has only only been confirmed but even her first look in the film has been unveiled.
The casting for the film is yet to be completed and shooting will kick off this month. The entire movie will be shot in one schedule and is expected to be wrapped up by August.
The 2014 novel by the Karachi-based journalist and author received positive reviews for successfully dismantling stereotypes without any public defamation or moralizing unlike similar portrayals. The books follows 20-year-old journalist Ayesha Khan and her misadventures in the volatile city of Karachi.
Both Saba Imtiaz and Sonakshi have tweeted about the film.
.@sonakshisinha is in the adaptation of Karachi, You’re Killing Me! and her journo face raised eyebrow IS ON POINT. 😏https://t.co/B1fez1yptH

However, the film will be different from the book. A source by Indian magazine Mumbai Mirror reveals:
“While the book – a coming-of-age story of a journalist named Ayesha Khan — is set in Karachi, Noor will be based in Mumbai and has the eponymous Noor Roy Chaudhary, a 20-something journalist, at its centre”
Sonakshi is currently on work related trip to New York and will be seen in her upcoming film Akira alongside Konkana Sen Sharma, and Force 2 staring with John Abraham.
“It’s a beautiful story that follows Noor as she navigates relationships, career, aspirations, life choices, infatuations and body image issues. Every girl will relate to her.”
Last year, Sonakshi had said that she wanted to experiment with different kind of films which could satisfy her. She had said that she wanted to evolve as an actor. However, we hope that acting in Noor is an experiment which would not be in vain.
