The strange movement was recorded by a infra-red monitor, presumably used to keep an eye on the small child also in the room.

But instead it apparently filmed the girl’s teddy bear appearing to sit up before slowly moving on top of the sleeping child.

According to the video uploader, the ‘incident’ occurred somewhere in India before being picked up by Chinese media.

Commenters on YouTube were quick to brand the footage as fake – and at times looks like it was created with stop motion – though it’s not known who created the clip.

The night vision camera makes the clip reminiscent of Hollywood scare-fest ‘Paranormal Activity’.
