Gurptill described Amir as the “pick of Pakistan’s bowlers and he is proving what a world-class bowler he is”.

The Kiwi batsman also said that the left arm pacer did not deliver any bad balls in the third one day international against them and bowled very well.

On the other hand, Head Coach of the Pakistan Waqar Younis said that the pacer is not at his best at the moment but is getting there.

“I always knew that it’s going to take some time. But he’s getting there. He’s started swinging the ball back at right-handers, which I think is key for the left-arm fast bowlers. And he’s getting his pace back.”, Younis said.

“There’s still a lot of pressure for Amir, playing international cricket. We’re trying to ease him into it – not expecting blasts from him. As long as he gets to his peak, when the time is right, hopefully he’ll deliver the goods for Pakistan”, he added.

Mohammad Amir’s inclusion in the Pakistani side has been questioned despite the fact that the pacer completed his five-year ban over his involvement in a spot-fixing scandal in 2010.

Amir’s own team members including Mohammad Hafeez and Azhar Ali had refused to participate in training camp alongside the fast bowler. The two batsmen have stated that they had moved on from the issue.
