ATC acquits suspect in policeman’s murder case

KARACHI: Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) on Monday acquitted an accused in the murder case of a policeman, ARY News reported.

According to details, the court acquitted Zubair alias Charya over lack of evidence under the Article 497 of Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).

Police, informed the court in its report that they could not find any evidence against the suspect in the murder case.

The case was filed against accused Zubair in August 2014 in Peerabad Police Station of Karachi and he was arrested on 15th April this year.

The accused has also been a key suspect in factory fire incident in Baldia Town in September 2012, which claimed the lives of around 250 factory workers.

The court ordered the police to hand over the accused to Rangers for investigation.

He became a key suspect in the case after revealing to the joint investigation team that the factory Ali Enterprises was set ablaze over not giving the extortion money.

The main accused of the factory arson attack Abdul Rehman alias Bhola has recently brought to Karachi after Interpol officials arrested him on December 03, with the help of the commandos of Thai police from a hotel of Bangkok.
