GUJRANWALA: In what appears to be suicide, police on Thursday found the body of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Sohail Tipu hanging from a ceiling fan at his house.
His body was found hanging from the ceiling fan at the DC House, according to the police.
A police official said initial investigation indicated that the deputy commissioner committed suicide by hanging himself.
However, he said, his hands were tied behind his back, which arouse suspicion that he might have been killed by someone who later tied him to the fan.
Further investigation was underway to ascertain the exact cause of the deputy commissioner’s death.
Tipu had been serving as deputy commissioner in Gujranwala since December 11, 2017.
