Accepting the ex-President’s request, The Accountability court ordered Asif Ali Zardari to be personally present at the proceedings on 13th May. According to the request, Asif Zardari could not be present at the court as he was not feeling well. Hearing has been adjourned till 13th May.
Asif Ali Zardari’s legal counsel Farooq H. Naik informed the court that his client was in Islamabad but could not reach the court as he was not feeling well. Hence, Zardari’s legal aide requested that he be excused from attending today’s hearing. The court gave its assent to the request and adjourned the session till May 13 and ordered Zardari to appear personally on the stated date, before the court. Zardari was scheduled to appear before the court today in the assets reference case. The assets reference case pertains to a reopened corruption case against Zardari, according to which the PPP co-chairman had submitted incorrect details of his wealth. The reference against Zardari was filed by National Accountability Bureau and he was supposed to appear before the Accountability Judge Khalid Mehmood Ranjha.
