According to details, the under-construction roof of Masjid Usman Ghani near Landi Kotal roundabout of North Nazimabad area collapsed, resulting critical injuries to four people. A few moments later they died.
The Friday prayer was underway at the mosque when the tragedy occurred. Rescue teams reached the spot and shifted the injured to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
Rescue sources informed that the roof collapsed as shades installed to protect people from scorching sun caved in.

Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah has sought report of the incident from commissioner Karachi.
He asked how the prayers were allowed at a mosque which was under-construction. He directed officials concerned to immediately help clearing rubble so that the injured could be provided medical treatment.
Our reporter Nazir Shah informed that fans and other equipments installed at the mosque were years-old and in a very bad condition.
He reported that the building was also in a decrepit state. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has expressed sorrow over loss of lives in the incident. He also raised the same question about permission of prayers at an under-construction mosque.
The premier sought report from the officials and called for providing better treatment to the injured persons.
