PM Nawaz sees no revolution in Pakistan

“You could have contested elections had you planned to bring about revolution,” said the PM while speaking at a ceremony to launch government’s Vision 2025 programme aimed at transforming country into an economically strong state.

The prime minister asked, “what are his mistakes and why is agitation being launched against his government.”

He said dictatorships and martial laws had always destroyed the country. “Only democracy is the solution for this country.”

“What is the logic behind revolution and what’s agenda? He asked. If you want to Libya-like revolution, it is already here,” said the PM.

Revolution is taking to power via vote and leave power the same way. If such resolutions start taking places, Pakistan will face no problems.

The PM said none of us agreed to such kind of revolutions. We have accepted this challenge.

“You bagged 40 votes or 100 votes from some places in the elections whenever you contested,” the PM laughed while referring to forces launching ‘independence march’ against the government.

He said the revolution would still not be brought about. “People have given us mandate with an agenda to make Pakistan a prosperous state. We consider those our companions who think there should be basic fundamental rights available to citizens, law and order should be maintained… and elimination of terrorism.

He asked are not we ready to learn lessons from the past 60 years. Constitution was violated in the past. Who sowed the seeds of terrorism in the country? Will anybody answer that, he asked.

In our tenure, we will end load-shedding. However, we don’t give any certain time frame.

The PM said he took the protesting forces as challenge. Pakistan is losing its value in the World. Neither our contacts with Afghanistan or India are ideal, how can we steer country out of crisis in such circumstances. However, he added that he had accepted that challenge to make country a prosperous state.

In 1991 and 1997 we set several examples for economic development.

India conducted nuclear tests and we responded with equal force to that move. Indian PM arrived to Pakistan in late 1999 and spoke gently about our country.

We are talking about economic development of the country, while others are talking about avenging Nawaz Sharif about their deaths, he moaned.
