The water level rising in the river at Kotri Barrage with an inflow of 3,00,415 cusecs and outflow of water 2,83,910 cusecs from the barrage, according to a fresh update of the flood.
According to the Flood Control Room (FCR), the water level at Sukkur Barrage rapidly going down and has dropped by 63,000 cusecs within last 24 hours duration.
The flood water also submerged dozens of villages in Nawabshah including Hamzo Jatoi, Pir Noor Shah, Gulbaig Jatoi, Darya Khan and Razi Jatoi, local people said.
The water at Tarbela reservoir has been measured at 59,80,000 acre feet, while at Mangla reservoir water conservation has been 73,56,000 acre feet, according to Wapda statement.
The high flood stream in Indus will pass through Guddu Barrage between September 08 to 09 (Tuesday to Wednesday), while the peak flood stream will pass through Sukkur Barrage on nine to 10 September (Wednesday to Thursday).
The water in Indus surged by 54,000 cusecs at Guddu barrage in last 24 hours, according to the report. Another 50,000 cusecs flood inflow is expected in next 24 hours.
According to the water data released by Sindh irrigation department the water level at Guddu Barrage and Sukkur Barrage surged by 13,000 and 2000 cusecs respectively in past 24 hours.
The anti-corruption department has registered case against five government employees including former director general of Punjab Mines Department Zafar Javed and the contractor, officials said.
