MULTAN: Three professors died while another received injuries in a road accident on Lahore-Islamabad motorway on Saturday, ARY News reported.
Police and rescue sources said the four were travelling to Muree when their vehicle met an accident near Chakri Interchange on the motorway, leaving them critically injured. Three of them died on the spot while another received severe injuries.
Rescue officials said the deceased and injured were shifted to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) Hospital, Islamabad. Three deceased have been identified as Prof Rana Dilshad, Rao Zulifqar and Zafar Iqbal and the injured as Shiekh Ramzan who were employed at Government Emerson College Multan.
Police said the dead bodies would be transferred to Multan in the afternoon for their burial at their native places.
There was no immediate word on the cause of the accident.
