According to PTA officials, around 7.5 million have been verified till date while 10.1 million unverified SIMs have been blocked.
The second phase of biometric verification of SIMs is in progress and it will end on April 12.
During the three-week long first phase of SIMs verification around 60 millions SIMs were verified.
It is pertinent to mention that the government in collaboration with the telecom operators had launched SIMs biometric verification on Jan 13 as a step to curb terrorism in the country.
