According to details, terrorists attacked a security checkpost on Quetta’s Joint Road, which resulted in four on-duty security officials and a child who was passing by, were also injured. The injured were quickly shifted to the FC hospital to be treated, however, one security official was unable to sustain the injuries and passed away.
After the explosion took place, a heavy contingent of security forces arrived on the scene of blast. Talking to media personnel, SSP Operation Waheed Khattak revealed that terrorists had planted the explosives during nighttime. It was disclosed that explosive material planted near the checkpost was detonated using a remote control. According to the Bomb Disposal Squad, 5 kilograms of explosives were used in the explosion. Nut bolts were also used in the bomb.
IGFC Major General Sher Afghan also arrived at the site and inspected the security situation of the area. The blast was heard far and wide, when it occurred in the early hours of the day.
