SHARJAH: England’s limited over skipper, Eoin Morgan will lead Karachi Kings in the absence of their permanent captain Imad Wasim, who is advised a couple of days’ rest by doctors.
Imad Wasim suffered an injury when he took a brilliant catch while back paddling against Lahore Qalandars on Sunday, but he could not maintain his balance at the end and his head struck the ground fiercely, he felt concussion and was stretched off from the field.
The 29-year old was kept under observation for 24 hours and was declared stable and was discharged on Tuesday. The management has now announced that he is advised a couple of days’ rest by the doctors.
Karachi Kings will take on Peshawar Zalmi in the first of the two games that will be played on Thursday at Sharjah.
Eoin Morgan is named as the stand-in skipper for Karachi Kings till Imad Wasim regains complete fitness and gets back in the playing XI.
He joined the Karachi Kings’ squad on Monday after leading England in a five-match ODI series victory against New Zealand by 3-2.
Karachi Kings have to win one game out of their two remaining contests against Peshawar Zalmi and Islamabad United respectively to qualify for the playoffs.
