‘Imad ko over do’: Crowd chants during Pak v NZ T20I

A video of the crowd calling for Pakistani all-rounder Imad Wasim’s over in the first T20I against New Zealand at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium is going viral.

Imad Wasim fielded on the boundary as the crowd chanted “Imad ko over do (Give the over to Imad)” in the video.

The left-handed batter acknowledged the crowd for their support. The spinner was brought into the attack in the 15th over and he took two wickets on consecutive deliveries. 

Pakistan won the opening game of the five-match T20I series by 88 runs in Lahore.

The hosts were dismissed for 182 in 19.5 overs after choosing to bat first. Left-handed batter Saim Ayub was the pick of the batters with his 28-ball 47, which included six fours and two sixes. 

Fakhar Zaman hit four boundaries and two maximums on his way to 47 from 34 balls. 

Matt Henry was the pick of the New Zealand bowlers as he took a hat-trick. He returned with figures of 3-32 in four overs.

Pakistani pacer Haris Rauf ripped through the New Zealand batting order as he registered his best T20I figures. He returned with figures of 4-18 in 3.3 overs.

Mark Chapman top scored for the visitors with 34 whereas the captain Tom Latham struck 20.
