Expressing his views in ARY News talk show ‘Off the record’, Umar claimed that his party policy is clear on the issue as they support administrative units adding that if local bodies system is introduced, the demand for new provinces will vanish at least from Karachi.
MQM leader clarifies the province demand
The MQM guest in the talk show, Hyder Abbas Rizvi maintained that his party does not want a province on ethnic grounds but clarified that ” Agr Lisaniat k naam pe sooba nahi bnna chahye to Sobay k naam pe lisaaniat nahi honi chahye” (If a province cannot be made on ethnic basis- ethnic politics too cannot be allowed on the basis of province) questioning the PPP attitude of “Marsoon Marsoon Sindh Na Desoon” (we will die but not give up Sindh) when MQM demands ‘administrative units’ in all of Pakistan.
Rizvi criticised Sindh’s ruling party PPP’s futuristic approach regarding their wish to rule Karachi by saying that it was neither a PPP stronghold nor has any signs to welcome the party in future.
