The prime minister was chairing a meeting over the security situation in Karachi at the Governor House.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif stressed for further improvement in intelligence sharing and devising a coordinated strategy to counter the possible reaction of terrorists over the military offensive in North Waziristan.
He also urged for coordination between police and rangers.
Earlier, D.G. Rangers Sindh Maj. Gen. Rizwan Akhtar presented a detailed report on the operation and crackdown against outlawed groups in Karachi.
Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali, Corps Commander Karachi, Governor and Chief Minister of Sindh and other top officials attended the meeting.
The prime minister reached Karachi today for a one-day visit.
Earlier, the prime minister reached Nawab Charagh Marri’s residence in Karachi and expressed his condolences over the death of Baloch nationalist leader Nawab Khair Bakhsh Marri.
