According to details, the rally of Sarwar was going on when workers and activists of PTI initially pushed and shoved ARY reporter and cameraman before subject them to physical assault.
Reporter Wasif Mehmood started to bleed from a fist-gash on his mouth while cameraman also suffered injuries on his back.
When contacted, PTI leader Chaudhary Sarwar condemned the incident and said he would immediately hold inquiry into the matter.
He said those found responsible will be given punishment under party rules.
PTI chairman Imran Khan has also taken notice of the incident and asked senior party leaders to hold investigation into it. He assured that responsible persons would be taken to task.
Punjab Union of Journalists has strongly condemned the incident and summoned an emergency meeting at 4pm today to discuss the future course of action.
