LAHORE: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Lahore on Friday released seventeen more workers of Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP), ARY News reported.

The TLP workers were booked at PS Shahdara in 2021 in the cases of riots and vandalizing public properties. The orders for the release were issued by the ATC after hearing the arguments from both sides.

It is pertinent to mention here that the interior ministry had decided to withdraw over 40 cases against TLP leader Saad Rizvi and others in line with an agreement reached with the organisation.

Following the agreement, TLP chief Saad Rizvi was released from jail on November 18, last year.

His name was removed from the Fourth Schedule – a list on which suspects of terrorism are put under the Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997 – on the recommendation of the District Intelligence Committee, Lahore.
