LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Usman Buzdar departed on Saturday for Saudi Arabia in order to perform Umrah.

In the morning today, CM Buzdar left for Allama Iqbal International Airport without any protocols and later waited in queue to get his boarding pass along with other passengers.

Sources informed ARY News that the CM will stay in Saudia for seven days and he is also expected to call on Saudi leadership during the visit.

The chief minister will come back to Pakistan on February 15, sources added.

It is worth mentioning Prime Minister Imran Khan has repeatedly put weight behind his choice of appointing Usman Buzdar for the coveted post of Chief Minister Punjab.

Recently, he had lashed out at opposition leader in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif for criticising Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar.

“Shehbaz Sharif said wrong things about Usman Buzdar,” the prime minister regretted while addressing the convocation of National University of Modern Languages (NUML).

Showering praise over CM Buzdar, he had said the incumbent Punjab CM would become the best chief executive of a province for he knew the sufferings of commoners. “Usman Buzdar won’t use the position to make quick bucks nor would he make his sons billionaires.” He will use his power for the good of the people, the PM added.
